CITYWIDE CASTING CALL FOR
ALL CANINE CHARACTERS!

Molly & Max Hosts Talent Search
for  Upcoming Dog Book
!
Does your dog have a story to tell? Jeff Moore, dog photographer
extraordinaire, is embarking on a nationwide tour to find canine
characters for his upcoming book,
Excuse Me, May I Shoot Your
Dog? Moore’s next stop is on Thursday, May 25th, 2006 at Molly & Max
in Cahaba Heights.
(Times are now open for Friday, May 26th -- 10AM - 1 PM)

Armed with only a camera, a Winnebago, and his indomitable good
nature, Moore is touring North America, shooting dogs and their loved
ones in both formal and candid settings. Between May and September,
he’ll be looking for subjects for his book at nearly forty pet stores in cities
as far flung as Darien, CT, San Diego, CA and Naperville, IL. He’ll also
be trying to discover new talent in unexpected places – in the wild, at
parks and beaches, in alleys and junkyards.

On Thursday, May 25th, between 10 AM – 6 PM, Moore will be at
Molly
& Max
, 4274 Cahaba Heights Court, offering doggie portraits for a
discounted fee of $75, and the chance to be featured in his book. $10
from each shoot will be donated to
Hand-in-Paw. Reservations are
requested and our spots are already beginning to fill up.

If you want your dog to mug for Moore, and the chance to be featured in
Excuse Me, May I Shoot Your Dog, please call 205-977-5999 to
schedule a photo shoot.

A former, but unsatisfied, fashion model who worked in Europe and
Japan, Moore first picked up a camera to document his travels. But the
real inspiration came during a Canadian road trip with his chocolate lab,
Bogey. “I was drawn to dogs and people and realized I had a gift for
putting the dogs at ease, allowing me to capture their essence,” says
Moore. Like the best portrait photographers, Moore takes pictures that
are not about making the subject look good, or about shooting their “best
side,” but about capturing something descriptive of who they are. His
work has been featured in Self, Country Living, AKC Gazette, Animal
Fair and Studio Photography and Design.

“The stories told by the photographs and text in
Excuse Me, May I
Shoot Your Dog?
, will explore the emotional life of dogs, the complexity
of the relationships between dogs and their people, and how these things
entwine with the world at large,” he adds. “And like all good stories, they
will be sometimes funny, sometimes uplifting, sometimes painful,
sometimes all three at once.”
